Spay and Neuter Ordinance Effective June 9th, 2009
Ponca City's Spay and Neuter Ordinance for dogs and cats, adopted last June will

become effective June 9, 2009.  This ordinance was adopted in response to significant

community support for responsible pet owners.  The goal is to reduce the number of
strays, unwanted and hungry animals in POnca City and in turn reduce the number

animal attacks by probiding a safe community for all citizens and pets.  During 2009,

729 dogs and 716 cats were euthanized at the Animal Control Shelter.
