Mission

To provide an opportunity for all citizens to have an active role and voice in their municipal government through advisory boards, which initiate in-depth studies of specific areas of responsibility and make recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners.

 

Airport Advisory Board

Purpose:

Airport Advisory Board

 

Advises and makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on the planning, development, construction, enlargement, improvement, maintenance, equipment, operation, regulation, protection, and policing of the municipal airport and land adjacent to the airport that is subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Aviation Association.

Energy Advisory Board

Purpose:

The duties of the Energy Advisory Board are to:

  1. advise the Board of Commissioners in all phases of maintenance, operation, rates, customer service and long-range planning to meet future electric and energy related requirements;
  2. recommend updates and improvements to the physical facilities as well as all electric and energy related services;
  3. conduct comprehensive studies of rate structures;
  4. conduct comprehensive studies to increase capabilities;
  5. track the financial conditions pertaining to estimated profit and expenses and determines if adequate fund balances are being maintained; and
  6. recommend plans and policies which will ensure continued competitiveness.
